I decided to do it different this time with the review of ABDC Season #6 Bieber challenge.
Reason: Detailed reviews can be found anywhere on the web and I don’t like repeating stuff from them:
Instead, I’m going to just comment on the WOW and AH HA! moments on the show for me(: That’ll be much more FUN:D
In order of appearance on the show:
Iconic Boyz
DEFINITELY the Air Jordan with the slam dunk move. That was just WOW.
When I saw that Justin Bieber gave them the challenge to incorporate bball moves into their choreography, I just thought “oh heck, it’s going to be like another high school musical choreo.” But my oh my was I wrong.
I think it’s just pure creativity that the boys actually thought of incorporating the hoop and air jordan with a slam dunk. I don’t know about the normal bball match but i definitely think this time their heights served them well.
The AH HA! moment for me in this performance is their story. They def brought out their plot well, starting with warm ups to getting into the game.. Awesome.

This crew never fails to amaze me every week.
**Disclaimer: I am actually not a big fan of theirs. But they are definitely one of the strongest groups in this season.**
They have many WOW moments in their choreo and it started right from the beginning of the performance. This is what makes this crew stand out because they don’t wait for the moment to shine, they shine the moment. They call it the brain bang and indeed it’s mindblowing how they created the visuals with a tutting combo linking their moves as a crew. This really deserves a mention because it just shows the great chemistry and unity between the members of the crew.
Back to the performance, there’s this minute AH HA! moment for me when Moon was doing the running and the rest did a slow mo backwards. I couldnt figure out what they were doing there? but when I got back to Bieber’s song (i obviously do not have Bieber fever haha) and I realise oh “For you i’d be/Wohaaa/But in a thousand miles just get you where you are” now I get it. awesome visuals from them.
And omg the other WOW moment >> I don’t know what that move is called and I don’t know how I should call that without sounding wrong.. but it’s the part after the heartbeat portion where Phillip Chbeeb, Moon and Brandon Harrell were standing over Jaja, Chachi and Emilio who were lying flat on their back on the ground. I shan’t attempt to name the move haha. BUT WOW what a smashing transition.
Ending with a heart shaped by their hands, it was sweet to give Lil Mama that rose aww Brandon.. hahahahaha
Phunk Phenomenon
I am trying so hard not to just point one person out of a crew… but…
PHUNKY BEBO WOW#1 at the BACK FLIPS!!! doesn’t this guy get dizzy from all these stunts?
PHUNKY BEBO WOW#2 at the reverse airchair spin with the push up with two hands. Was that even possible?
ok i’ve said my peace about Bebo, that guy’s really DA MAN, I mean I really respect him for those amazing stunts. Getting back to the crew, I guess they really got the inner Bieber in those AH HA! moments.. LOOK AT THOSE HIP THRUSTS hahahahhaha
I think it’s really creative for them to be bringing in stepping moves to overcome Bieber’s challenge by making music with their bodies (AH HA! moment there). and WOW look at that synchronicity.. could you believe that they just learnt the move? NO wayy…
Phunk’s integration of their dance moves to fit snugly into the music where flips in midair fit the sudden change of music to the clock ticking.. when they land exactly together as the music booms back on stage >>> WOW and that twist into midair landing with a half split with the changes in music >>> WOW.
I think Phunk did it this week… no more bottoms for them i hope! (:
Instant Noodles
Kudos to this crew man cos I think they got the hardest challenge this week. CHAIRS omg…
WOW moment throughout the whole choreo = with all the pushing and gliding of chairs, I’m surprised how neat the chair arrangements remain on stage. Especially when they started off with the push off, DID YOU SEE THEIR POSITIONS? IMPECCABLE.
I think for me this crew gave me one of the best AH HA! moment. Ending off with the chair throwing and switching chairs etc. I was anticipating how they were going to end it. and OMG.. amongst the seeming chaos, they got Bieber’s name in the correct order. how did they do that?
ANYWAY, just wanna do a shout out to IN:
Results from the show don’t mean anything. I think u guys will? still make it really BIG in dance elsewhere. Keep Rockin’

Street Kingdom
THIS WAS THE CREW I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO. cos how do you mix bieber style with krumping? hmm…
every week’s challenge to this crew is their biggest challenge I feel because their krumping style is so unique, it almost requires a music style of its own. Having to choreo and fit krumping into mainstream music styles, i feel, is the greatest challenge that bugs Street Kingdom every week. Nevertheless, this crew keeps coming back stronger each week.
The particular WOW moment for me this week was: THEY WERE ACTUALLY DANCING TOGETHER IN SYNC.. MOSTLY. there were alot of talk of how this crew is often seen more freestyling than dancing together. and I think they really look awesome in unity.
They are lucky they got kungfu as the challenge because then they could showcase the roughness and toughness krumping makes out dance moves to be. and the song choice is of course very fitting.
AH HA! moment is I think it’s really clever of them to split their crew into black and red teams fighting it out but at the same time they have times where they get together (I really like the get together part1) and intermingle. WOW #2 for me is the part where one side punches and the other side of the crew receives the punch in a stomach arching move. I get this street fighter (the video game) feel when i watch the duels and it’s mindblowing because they are street dancers.. totally apt.
WOW #3 not dance related but the punch through the jacket is really fun to watch haha (I’m not sadist)
I’m really glad they came through for this week but one thing I was really disappointed is that they dissed IN towards the end of their dance. There was absolutely no need for that.

This ends another week of ABDC. I think it was a good week. I don’t root for any of the crews in particular but I like watching them because every challenge grows their potential in dance and choreography. It’s amazing how they can come up with different things every week, do they ever run out of ideas?
